Charm is deceptive. Flattery drips from lips like candy. Beauty does not last. It is fleeting. A nice hairstyle doesn't make you beautiful. Wearing expensive jewelry or nice clothes doesn't make you beautiful. Beauty comes from inside you. Beauty of a gentle spirit doesn't fade away. I place great value on this kind of beauty.
This is how Holy Women make themselves beautiful. They put their hope in Me. They follow the lead of their husbands. A woman who has respect for Me should be praised. If you really want to gain knowledge, knowledge starts by having respect for Me.
Only foolish people hate wisdom and instruction. I take pleasure in those that respect Me and in those that hope in My mercy. A woman like this is worth more than jewels.
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
— Proverbs 31:30
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands.
— 1 Peter 3:3-5
