Today's Daily Devotional

Nourish your spiritual growth with My Word.

I see so many believers that are living a life not unlike a lot of unbelievers. They are depressed, anxious, and act like they have no hope. They make bad decisions and are confused about their future. They rely on feelings instead of Me to tell them what My will is. They are like babies in adult bodies.

Their bodies are growing but they're not spiritually growing. They are not reading My Word. My Word is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword. It is the most powerful weapon I give to you.

It is part of your spiritual nourishment. How are you ever supposed to grow into a mature believer, knowing for sure what My will is? Be experienced in righteousness by maturing in solid food. Constant use will help you distinguish good from evil.

In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!

Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.

But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

— Hebrews 5:12-14

Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God.

— Hebrews 6:1
