Sometimes you have anger and you slander and have dirty language. You tell obscene stories, talk foolishly, and tell coarse jokes. These are not for you. I identify you as My own and this brings sorrow to My Holy Spirit. Instead, give thankfulness to Me. Don’t use that kind of language.
Let everything you say be good and edifying. This will help and encourage those who hear your words. Be Holy in every aspect of your life, even in speech. I AM Holy and I called you.
You must be Holy because I AM Holy and My Holy Spirit is in you if you believe in Me. Do not grieve My Holy Spirit. Instead, let you light shine before men so they see your Holiness and glorify Me. If you learn to control your tongue, you will have a long life.
Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
