Today's Daily Devotional

Be wise. Wisdom comes from experience, gleaning from forerunners.

Learn from others and learn from your own experience as well. Don’t be one who keeps doing the same bad behavior over and over, but learn your lesson and move on.

Take the word of an elder who tells you not to do something for he is wise and is telling you from experience. Be teachable and open to correction like a successful athlete does of his coach and of players who have played the game before him. He does not have to make the same mistakes they made and he is smart enough to realize that.

Be wise and take advice from those who have run the race before you and you will spare yourself much time and trouble.

Is not wisdom found among the aged?  Does not long life bring understanding?

— Job 12:12

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

— Proverbs 1:7
