Today's Daily Devotional

Control yourself so that you may live righteously. It is to your full advantage to do so.

When you conduct yourself in a Godly way, I am proud. But when you lack self-control, I witness the destruction it brings in your life. Your body is not your own. Do not damage it by lack of discipline. Your life is not your own for it was bought by a price, by Me.

Practicing self-control requires that you set boundaries for yourself and for others. You are responsible for tending to your actions in a proper manner and to represent Me as you do so. Do not allow others to come between us or to take from your peace or wrongly of your time. However, do not deny those who are in need because you don’t want to give of yourself.

Good decisions are made when you practice the ability to make wise, sound choices based on Godliness. Good things will come to pass when you do this for such is My perfect way.

Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.

— Proverbs 25:28

Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.

— Proverbs 16:32
