When you toss about, to and fro, you become ungrounded. You create needless problems for yourself and others.
Like a palm tree by the sea, sink your roots in deep unto Me. You will therefore be strong and steadfast able to weather any storm and will have the grace to withstand whatever temptations come your way. Whether in the eye of the storm or in the dry and parched desert, you will not only stay alive, you will thrive and bear fruit. Dig in to My Word and spend quality time with Me. Pray and cease not.
Do this and you will bend but not break, just as the palm tree for it is grounded with a firm and sound foundation, able to withstand both long periods of drought and turbulent winds of the storms.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
— 1 Corinthians 15:58
They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
— Jeremiah 17:8
