Today's Daily Devotional

When you love, a multitude of sins will be covered. A multitude of sins will be avoided too.

You have read in My Word that love covers a multitude of sins, but understand that by loving, you will actually sin less too. When you love, you see, you naturally practice the other fruits of the Spirit like gentleness, kindness, self-control and goodness. These bring you to experience other fruits as well such as peace, joy and faithfulness.

Think of times you have not loved someone. It’s easy to get angry and short-tempered with that person. It’s easy to lose your temper, shout at them and act in other ways that are sinful. Now, think of the tolerance that love brings. When you love someone, you are able to overlook their faults and are more patient with them.

I am not asking you to feel like you love everyone. Action comes before feelings. I am commissioning you to love out of obedience. In doing so, you will flourish and grow. You will lead and leave good wherever you go. Others will want what you have and you will be blessed. Commit to love and I will take care of the rest.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

— 1 Corinthians 13:13

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

— Ephesians 4:2
