That may sound a little vain. You probably cannot imagine commanding someone to love you, can you?
In loving Me, you will come to know Me and in knowing Me, your crooked path will be made straight. When you love someone, you WANT to spend as much time as you can with them. Time together enriches a relationship. Your relationship with Me will make the absolute difference in your life.
Loving me with your whole heart will assure that nothing or no one comes between us. You wouldn’t want your spouse to love football or shopping more than he or she loves you, would you? It would interfere in your relationship. That is why I commission you to love Me with all your heart and your soul as well for in doing so, you will be made whole.
We love because He first loved us.
