I expect all My followers to be givers. Each one needs to do what he is led to do in his heart. Do not grudgingly give because I love a cheerful giver. Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly. Whoever sows bountifully will reap bountifully. Give according to what you have, not according to what you do not have. Your abundance will be a supply for others needs.
Their abundance will be a supply for your needs. Do not give before men to be noticed by them. If you do, you have no reward with Me in Heaven. When you give to the poor, do not shout it.
Let your giving be in secret. I see what is done in secret and I will greatly reward you. Examine your heart. Make sure you are giving for My glory and the good of people.
“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in Heaven. “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others.
Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
— Matthew 6:1-4
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
— 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
