This is how you know what love is: that I laid down My life for you. There is no greater love than this. I laid it down of My own accord. I had the authority to lay it down and take it up again. I am the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for His sheep.
I shepherd My flock even now so that they will live securely. Because of this, My greatness will reach the ends of the Earth. I gather all the lambs in My arms and carry them close to My heart. l lead them besides springs of water.
I search for My sheep and look after them. I look after them like a shepherd looking after His scattered flock. I search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bandage the injured and strengthen the weak.
He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young.
