Today's Daily Devotional

“Don’t be wise in your own eyes but seek My wisdom and I shall give it to you.”

People speak rashly and tell all manner of things. They won’t take advice because they think they know best. They end up making fools of themselves. So do not deceive yourself. If you think you are wise by today’s standards you will become fools so you can become wise. If you lack wisdom, ask Me.

I give generously to all without finding fault. The beginning of knowledge starts with having respect for Me. Don’t be wise in your own eyes but respect Me and stay away from evil. Wisdom that comes from above is pure.

It is peaceable and gentle. It obeys. It is full of mercy and produces good fruit. It is impartial and without hypocrisy. With Me are wisdom and might. Counsel and understanding belong to Me also. Come to Me and I will give you what you need.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

— James 1:5

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

— James 3:17

To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his.

— Job 12:13
