In times passed, people would provide sacrificial offerings as atonement for their sins. These offerings involved animals,sometimes a lamb. The lamb had to be perfect and without blemish. This is not needed anymore. Because of your sin, you are separated from God and stand guilty before Him.
But I came without blemish or defect. I was chosen before the creation of the world and was revealed for your sake. I am the perfect lamb and you were bought by the priceless blood of Christ.
I came as the ultimate sin sacrifice to die once and for all for all sins. When you believe in Me and confess with your mouth I freely forgive all your sins. I paid them in full. I am the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.
