Many of My children are walking around with deep sadness. Darkness covers the earth and spreads over the nations. You feel you have been deserted or hated. You cry like sad doves. If you call out to Me for help, I will answer you. If you cry out to Me, I will say, “Here I AM.”
In times past it was custom for people in great times of difficulty or mourning to lay in ashes. They would rip their clothes, put on sackcloth, and throw ashes on their head. I came to save you.
I will pick you up out of the ash pile and give you beauty for ashes. I will anoint you with oil and give you joy instead of sorrow. I will give you a spirit of praise instead of sadness. I will take off your sackcloth and clothe you with gladness. Rejoice and be glad.
and provide for those who grieve in Zion-to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
