I see that you are looking at your situation at times you should be looking to Me. Just as a child does not learn to walk when looking at his own two feet, you must not either. When you are focused down, at the situation at hand, you cannot focus up.
Remember when Peter was walking on the water? What happened when he looked down and not at Me? He began to sink. So do you.
When your eyes are not stayed upon Me, you lose sight of My ability to be and do all. You think only of your situation and get hopeless. You get in too deep. You begin to give way to the wind. You are tempted to take part in sinful activities and to live as the world lives. Keep your eyes on me and I will keep you afloat.
“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
— Matthew 14:29-30
