Today's Daily Devotional

Be careful what you say. Words are more powerful than you can even imagine.

You are what you say just as you reap what you sow. When you speak despair and destruction upon yourself and others, you are being unwise. I am commissioning you to speak good and lovely things so they may come to pass.

If you tell a child he is worthless, the child will begin to believe it. If you tell a child he is valuable and precious, he will believe that as well. Be conscious of every word that comes from your mouth and of the attitude in which is in spoken in. Use gentle tones and speak with love.

The power of your words are powerful so use them to build people up. Use them to build yourself up as well. Speak life and not death and you will reap the benefits.

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for the building of others up according to their needs, that it may benefit them who listen.

— Ephesians 4:29

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil thins out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

— Luke 6:45
