There are times when you are sullen, depressed and heavy with the weight of the world on your shoulders. In these times, you are not leaning on me. Drop your burdens down and look to Me. I will give you joy.
Joy is a character quality for you, as a Christian. Even when you feel concerned or sad, you can have great joy, knowing that I am God and that I abide in you. Other times you will actually feel the joy which is likened unto happiness. Just as a person who is studious is not always studying for he drinks, eats, sleeps and does other things as well. It is a description of his character.
Joy will be your character when you walk with Me. It will be like a light in the darkness, shining through, even when you are not feeling joyful. By experiencing My joy at all times, you will want to express it because it cannot be contained. It will be as natural to you as it is for a studious person to study.
Rejoice! Be glad for I am the Lord your God and I have come to do wonderful things for you.
Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
